Your eyebrows matter. They are not just a thin line above your eyes. They can make or ruin your look entirely. Perfectly shaped eyebrows has the ability to pop all your facial features, but just a fraction too far to one side or another, and the whole look can be a disaster. If you want to be your own brow specialist, you can try to fix your eyebrows easily with a little bit patience, some appropriate tools and by following some easy tips.
First: You have to figure out what shape you want for your eyebrows
Everything you need to know before you start drawing is where your eyebrows are to start. And where that little arch is supposed to go. And where they are supposed to end.
- Where to Start: Grab an eyebrow pencil. Any old pencil you have around you will work. Hold it upright up along the side of your nose, directly beside where your nostril is. Wherever that pencil points on your brow is where your eyebrow should start.
- For Perfect Arch: Now, look straight. Hold the same pencil at an angle. From the side of your nose, directly over the very center of your eye’s pupil. See where it falls on your eyebrow. That’s usually where your highest point lies. Your arch. Make a beautiful and natural lift.
- The End Point: Keep that pencil in the same position at the outside of your nose. But flip it so that it goes past the outer corner of your eye. Take note of where the pencil touches your brow bone. That is the area where your eyebrow must end.
Second: Tools (Eyebrow kits)
You don’t need to buy an entire beauty supply shop but some good quality tools. They will be the ones to actually make the difference in your brow game I assure you.
- Good Tweezers: This is the most important tool you’ll need for your brows. It will help you to remove unnecessary lines and make your face clearer.
- A Spoolie Brush: It’s like those little mascara wand. These are must-haves. Work it through all of your brow hairs straight up and right into position before you start. You’ll get an idea of what’s got to do next.
- Small Brow Scissors: If there are a few longer hairs that stick out, this is a total lifesaver. But use a little caution while using this.
- Brow Pencil, Powder, or Gel: After you’ve shaped it all, you’ll have to pencil your eyebrow prior to applying makeup for any night out or party. So choose the product you like the most and start the process for your look.
Third: The Actual Shaping
Okay, you have your tools now. You know your shape now. Now, let’s move on to the perfect brow section.
- Brush it: Grab that spoolie brush and just brush all your brow hairs up.
- Trim carefully: Get those little brow scissors. And just snip the tips of those long, unruly hairs that are protruding. Brush them back down. And just see how they look. If they still look too long, brush them down and trim the ones that are falling below your brow line as well.
- Sketch it out: Okay, so if you’re a little anxious, or simply need a reference, reach for a brow pencil. Keep it very close to your hair color. And lightly trace a line underneath your brow. Just follow that natural lower curve you want. This gives you a little reference. Don’t leave it too dark. Make it light.
- The Pluck: Now you have to use the tweezers. Only remove hairs that are clearly out of shape from what you want. Remove hairs one at a time. Especially the ones right between your brows.
- The Top: For the top, in general, you don’t necessarily want to pluck too much at all. Just any stray hairs way above your main eyebrow line. Less is more once again, here. You totally want to maintain that natural curve you’ve got going on. That’s the secret.
Mistakes to avoid-
There are some general mistakes that people made when sculpting eyebrows. That’s alright. It just happens. But knowing what not to do is going to save you.
- Over-Plucking: That is the big error. It’s just too easy to totally get carried away. That’s why I advised you one hair at a time, step back, check. Brows do grow back, eventually. But not right away. And sometimes they don’t even grow back exactly the same.
- Going against Your Natural Shape: Do not try to change your natural shape of your eyebrows. Work with your natural arch. Don’t try to draw on a whole new one. It will not look good.
- Applying the Wrong Shade to Fill: While filling, select a shade that is quite close to the color of your actual eyebrow hair. Too dark shades will be overpowering. I would suggest to choose a lighter shade than your actual hair color to get a pleasant finish.
- Creating a solid Line: Don’t make a solid line when you’re filling. Opt for light, airy strokes. To look like actual natural hairs. And blend well with the spoolie.
Conclusion-
Don’t be afraid to experiment with a bit, but don’t start with more than a bit. It’s easy to yank out too much hair, but you can’t stick them back on. With practice, you’ll learn the ideal shape that will work best on most of your own face.
